Collecting personal information

You can visit most of our Site without providing any personal information, especially if you are simply reading its pages.

In certain cases (personalised services, forms, sending an email, ...), we may ask you to provide some personal information, such as your name, first name, postal address and email address. No personal information is collected without your agreement.

This information is only requested where it is necessary.

Every time personal information is collected, we make every effort to include a link leading to this policy.

Using and storing personal information

The only personal information that we can ask you for on our Site is:
- your civil status (title, name, first name, postal address and telephone number. We also ask trade visitors for their company name and position);
- your email address (personal or professional).
- your bank reference if you are ordering goods or services on the Site

This information is used only for the purposes for which it was requested, mainly to enable you to consult and book offers proposed on the site.

For example, we need your email address in order to reply to you or subscribe you to our newsletter, we need your postal address in order to send you documents.

Each of the forms is accompanied by a tick-box that allows you to prevent your personal information from being re-used. If you agree to it being re-used, we reserve the right to send you new messages proposing different offers directly related to the object of the Site.

Personal information is kept only for the time required to complete the task for which it was requested or to comply with our legal obligations.

Security and confidentiality of personal information

We consider your personal information to be confidential.

We take all reasonable technical steps to prevent personal information from being lost or diverted while it is being collected or stored, and to prevent it from being passed on to unauthorised third parties.

However, despite these measures, the Internet remains an open system and we cannot guarantee that unauthorised third parties will not find a way of overcoming the measures in question or using your personal information for illegal purposes.

Your personal information is intended for the Beaune Tourist Office. In no circumstances will it be passed on to a third party (unless we have your explicit agreement, in which case you may be contacted by one or more of our partners). Only the Beaune Tourist Office and the technical service providers who assist us in processing it have access to this information. These technical service providers are bound to abide by the confidential nature of this information and to use it only for the specific operation for which they have been asked to intervene.

In very exceptional circumstances, we may be legally bound to communicate your personal information, for example where it is necessary to identify, arrest or take out legal proceedings against any individual likely to prejudice or attack the rights of third parties, intentionally or otherwise.

Transferring personal information abroad

We do not transfer information abroad.

Anonymous data

We may also use cookies, and possibly other captures of environment variables, audit file management and the opening of temporary Internet file directories (cache). In this case, we inform you of the existence of these procedures, their purpose and your option to oppose them.

Cookies
A cookie is a text file placed temporarily in your PC memory (session cookie), or stored permanently on your hard disk (stored or “persistent” cookie) by a web page server. Cookies cannot run programmes or introduce viruses into your computer. They are uniquely attributed to you and may only be read by a web server from the domain that sent them to you.

One of the main aims of cookies is to help you save time. They tell the web server that you have returned to a specific page. When you return to the site, cookies extract the information that you provided previously so that you can easily use the functions that you have personalised. For example, if you personalise web pages or subscribe to services, a cookie automatically brings up your personal information (user name, password, preferences, etc.).

We mainly use session cookies, which expire after 30 minutes’ inactivity or when you close down your browser. Using cookies helps us to further personalise your browsing on our site.

We also use stored (or “persistent”) cookies, mainly to avoid re-displaying pages that you have already visited, and also to personalise your online browsing and save you time.

You have the option of accepting or refusing cookies at any time. Most browsers accept them automatically, but you can generally modify your settings to refuse them if you prefer. You can also configure your browser to warn you whenever cookies are presented, so that you can accept or refuse them on an individual basis. However, if you choose to refuse them, this may sometimes affect your browsing on the web and access to services.

In no circumstances is there ever any correlation between these cookies and any personal information that we may hold.

Browsing
We may also gather other information, such as your IP address, operating system, type of browser, access times and the addresses of the sites you visit, but in no circumstances is this information ever linked to your personal information.

Links to other sites
This Site contains links to other sites over which we have no control. We are in no way responsible for the data protection policies or practices of any other sites that you choose to visit from this site. Please therefore read the data protection policies of these other sites to find out how they collect, use and share your personal information.

Your rights

In accordance with article 39 of Act no. 78-17 of 6 January 1978 modified, you have a permanent right to oppose, access, correct or delete any personal information concerning you. You may therefore demand that any information concerning you that is exploited, processed or circulated on this site that is inaccurate, incomplete, equivocal or out of date should be corrected, supplemented, clarified, updated or deleted.

You may ask for your email address to be removed from the circulation list by clicking on the link at the bottom of every email that is sent to you.
