On 11 September 2022
The Half-Marathon of the Hospices de Beaune Wine Auction takes the hilly roads which are so typical of the vineyards of the Côte de Beaune. The runners cross the most prestigious places and villages in Burgundy (Pommard, Meursault, Volnay) that provide the blend of friendship and folk atmosphere for the event. Musical entertainment and tastings add to the race.
History of the Beaune Wine Auction Half-Marathon
In 1986, the challenge of the Beaune Wine Auction Half-Marathon was created under the impetus of the Athletics Section of the Beaune Emulation Society (SEB). 450 runners took the start line for this first edition. In 1989, the course was held between Savigny-lès-Beaune, Pernand-Vergelesses and Aloxe-Corton. In 2001, it was modified and now follows the roads of Pommard, Volnay, Meursault and Monthélie. Since the creation of this challenge, the number of participants has continued increasing, reaching its record of 2475 runners ready to rise to the challenge in 2014!
