Come and discover the Etangs d’Or, a natural space arranged for family walks, fishing and discovering the natural environment, not far from Merceuil and just minutes from Beaune!
The lakes, the fauna, the flora
Breathe deep and contemplate
The mix of sunny and shady paths, all relatively flat, offer easy walks for families which are both rustic and educational, where you can discover the fauna and flora of this protected natural area. With its special viewing arrangements and explanatory panels, you can discover an exceptional wealth of biodiversity, watch various species of birds such as herons, kingfishers and coot, as well as the typical game animals of the region (wild boar, roe deer, badger, fox and hare).
Picnic spaces have been set up so that you can have lunch in comfort, with children's play areas available near the car parks so they can let off steam and have fun.
The Etangs d’Or, some 12 lakes laid out for angling, teeming with fish of all kinds.
The Etangs d’Or are an ideal fishing spot. Preserving this site means you can experience a biodiversity you thought had disappeared forever and that’s truly exceptional: carnivores (pike, zander, black bass, perch), carp and foraging fish (bleak, roach, whitefish...). The objective: to leave nature in peace. Creating islands for birds, pontoons for visitors and a few embankments make it an excellent place for fishing and outdoor activities. Fishing is permitted subject to possession of a fishing licence.
EventsThe Etangs d’Or offer free and paying themed events throughout the year in partnership with the League for the Protection of Birds of the Côte-d'Or, the Conservatory of Natural Areas of Burgundy and Côte-d'Or Federation for Fishing and Protection of the Aquatic Environment.
