Pernand-Vergelesses, a charming wine village in the Côte de Beaune, is an unmissable stop on the Route des Grands Crus. Corton-Charlemagne, Corton Clos du Roy and Ile des Vergelesses all invite you in to sample the pleasures of the palate.

View of the vineyards

Shaped like an amphitheatre around Cortons Hill, the village is held in the embrace of the protective figure of Our Lady of Hope, rising in the distance as you approach along the D18. Accessible by car from the centre of the village, the Oratory of Frétille offers a splendid view of the vineyards.

Hiking in Burgundy: "Tour de la Butte de Corton"

For ardent walkers, you can leave your vehicle at the entrance to the village, and let yourself be guided by the signs marking out circuit number 3 entitled "Tour de la Butte de Corton" ("Corton Hill Circuit"). This walk is also available on the Bourgogne Rando Vignes app, a free download from the App store and Google Play. The circuit has some wonderful discoveries in store, such as the church of St Germain and its splendid polychrome glazed tile roof, the Mère Fontaine and house of Jacques Copeau.

We recommend: the Oratory of Frétille is ideal for a picnic with the family, with a glass of Pernand, perhaps?
