As usual, every July, Chalon-sur-Saône gets ready to vibrate to the rhythm of Chalon dans la rue, the unmissable festival of the arts in public spaces. For 38 years, this historic festival has transformed the city into a vast open-air stage. 149 companies will be taking over the squares, alleyways, courtyards, parks and gardens, playing with the city, the places and the present moment.
Street theatre, dance, circus, puppetry, performance, visual installations: all the disciplines will mingle and cross-fertilise, with one watchword: play for the public space. From intimate performances to large-scale gatherings, humour, poetry and commitment, the festival offers a wide range of creations to suit all audiences.
Chalon dans la rue is also the place to be, these mini festivals within the festival, with their programming, atmosphere and concerts until nightfall!
Join the 200,000 spectators expected to build an "otherwise poetic" festival that, like Bérangère Magaud's 2025 poster, lifts the whole city into a collective reverie.
So don't miss the chance to beat the streets in search of artistic nuggets from 17 to 20 July!
