  • The Duchess of Magenta took over this domaine on the death of her husband the 4th Duke in 2002. He had enlarged this 18th century family holding by acquiring the Abbey of Morgeot with its famous "Clos de la Chapelle" in1967. All properties belonging to supporters of Marie de Bourgogne, daughter of Charles the Rash, the last Duke of Burgyndy (1433-1477), were put to the torch on the orders of the King of France. Of the 12th-century Cistercian abbey, property of the monks of Maizières, only the bread oven and the chapel survived.
