    It is precisely here, underground, that we have chosen to take you to discover these underground treasures. A guide will be at your side to walk through the secret cellars of the wine houses and estates, and share with you the winegrowing history of these places, usually closed to the public.

    "Three emblematic Beaune figures: Champy - Jadot - Vergnette de Lamotte" - new tour
    The 18th and 19th centuries were the golden age of the Climats. The wine houses developed, bringing notoriety and recognition to the Climats. Scientific research was booming. Wines were invited to the Universal Exhibitions... Relive this era with a visit to the Maison Champy, Louis Jadot and the exceptional opening of the Vergnette de Lamotte room.

    "The largest network of cellars in Beaune
    In the 18th century, wine houses were born and prospered in Beaune. After the French Revolution, they bought up historic monuments with fabulous underground passages. The bastion of the Oratory, the convent of the Visitandines and the old castle of Beaune became the property of the Maison Chanson, Patriarche and Bouchard Père et Fils respectively.

    "Between the divine and wine".
    As major owners of vines and property, the abbeys have set the seal on the history of Beaune's wine industry. Discover this fabulous history through a visit to the old cellars linked to the canons (Maison Joseph Drouhin) and the collegiate church of Notre-Dame, to the former abbey of Maizière and to the Convent of the Visitandines (Maison Patriarche).

    "Faubourg St Nicolas: old winegrowing district" - new tour
    This is the historic winegrowers' quarter in Beaune! The houses and shops bear the traces of this history, provided you know how to decipher them. This tour will reveal this history and open the doors of the old winegrowers' courtyards, the Saint-Nicolas cellars (Maison Albert Bichot), the Besancenot estate and the former Carmelite convent, which houses the precious Chapel of the Christ Child.

    Visits limited to 20 people.
    In French only.

    Reservations required.
    Ticket office at the Beaune Tourist Office.
