From the market to the mustards, Beaune can be savoured

You’re off early this morning. The bags are packed, the children still a little sleepy but impatient. You’ve promised us a weekend that will be both peaceful and full of discoveries. Your destination, Beaune. Between historic town and wine villages, the perfect day is waiting for you! When you arrive at the station, don’t waste a minute! Head for the Beaune market. Let yourself be guided by thesmells, colours and typical atmosphere. The children marvel at the cheeses, and pick up a slice of artisanal sausage, while you sample a little of everything.Snails, crème de cassis, seasonal fruits… a sensory immersion right in the heart of Burgundy’s terroir. A few bouch&eacutees later, stomachs start à crying famine. You push open the door of Caves Madeleine, charmed by the hushed, friendly atmosphere. The dishes are made using produce from the market you’ve just come from. A treat for young and old alike.

Tastings in sight!Focus on Fallot Mustard Mill and Domaine Besancenot

But the day is just beginning. To please the children, who love cooking, you continue your exploration with a visit to the Moutarderie Fallot, dernière artisanal mustard factory in Beaune. While the little ones dive into the sensory tour, you listen attentively to Sophie, who passionately shares the secrets of production… but be warned, ça remains between you. Then it’s off to the Domaine Besancenot, for a commented wine tasting. The children savour local syrups while nibbling on gougères, while you discover the vintages of the region. It’s an experience to be shared with the whole family and enjoyed together.

In the evening, stroll through the cobbled streets of Beaune, bathed in the evening light. The shops, the facades, the details, everything invites you to slow down. You finally put your suitcases down the Ibis Beaune Centre hotel, perfectly situatedComfort, calm, and a well-earned rest

For lunch, opt for a local restaurant spotted along your walk. The menu is simple, the produce local, the welcome warm. In the afternoon, head for the  Parc de la Bouzaize, a veritable havre ofverdure. While the children enjoy the manège, you can savour a moment of calm by the water.

At the end of the day, head for a family-friendly tasting at the Cellier de la Cabiote: wines for the grown-ups, grape juice for the little ones, and yet another experience shared around the flavours of the region. After a convivial evening and a night at the Cèdre with its SPA and its caves voûute;es, the day comes to an end. But last stop à the Cit&eute; des Climats et des Vins de Bourgogne,  for a fun and educational expérience for young and old alike.
