History of the Beaune Wine Sale Half Marathon
In 1986 the half-marathon of the Wines sales of Beaune was created under the impetus of the Athletics Section of the Societé d’Emulation Beaunoise (S.E.B.). 450 runners took part in this first edition. In 1989, the route ran between Savigny-lès-Beaune, Pernand-Vergelesses and Aloxe-Corton. In 2001, this was modified and now takes in the roads to Pommard, Volnay, Meursault and Monthélie. Since the creation of this event, the number of participants has continued to rise, reaching an all-time high of 2,475 runners in 2014! Every year, more than 5,000 participants, mainly from the Bourgogne, Franche-Comté, Île de France and Rhône Alpes regions, set off on the Semi (21.100 km) and Foulées (10.400 km) courses. Take up the challenge!
