SANTENAY

A wine-growing village fed by a natural spring, Santenay became a health resort in the 19th century. The area, at the junction of the Beaune-Santenay cycle route and the greenway to Nolay, is divided between Santenay-le-Haut with its church of Saint-Jean de Narosse and Santenay-le-Bas with its châteaux. Santenay boasts a Casino, the successor to the 19th-century Kursaal. Its Valvital spa centre welcomes spa-goers during the season and visitors in search of well-being.

Discover the Hautes-Côtes vineyards on your own

Have you chosen to cycle to get around Burgundy? You’re right to do so. The Voie des Vignes is the perfect route for getting to know wine-growing Burgundy. It’s a short route through the vineyards of the Grands Crus and Premiers Crus, where you can watch the vines at work. Bear in mind during your journey that this route is also used by winegrowers working on their vines. Be curious but respectful. For walkers, the hiking trails leaving from Santenay take you to the Hautes Côtes de Beaune and their formidable panoramas.
