BOUILLAND

An ancient Eduen village at the bottom of the bubbling Rhoin valley, 15 km west of Beaune, Bouilland, “Burgundy’s little Switzerland”, is close to Sainte-Marguerite Abbey, built in 1100. It’s a paradise for peregrine falcons and, with its cliffs offering 375 climbing routes, for rock-climbing enthusiasts.

For hiking

The cliffs around Bouilland are impressive. The Rhoin Valley trail is well worth the detour. It’s 10 km of forest, pretty clearings, splendid panoramas over the valley, happiness!
