History of Château de Savigny-lès-Beaune

Built in 1340 for Duke Eudes, the château was dismantled in 1478 following the invasion of Burgundy by Louis XI in his struggle with Mary of Burgundy. Restored and embellished in the early 17th century by the Bouhier family, the château became the property of the de Migieu family in 1689, and then, through marriage, that of General Comte de La Loyère and his heirs, until it was purchased in 1972 by a winegrower from a Côte de Beaune estate.

Located in Savigny-les-Beaune near Beaune, the château overlooks a magnificent estate of several hectares, which includes hunting planes and vineyards in a bucolic setting.

This chateau is indeed a treasure trove for all aircraft, racing car and motorcycle enthusiasts.

Discover one of the finest and rarest collections of Fiat Abarth prototypes, as well as one of France’s most important motorcycle museums with its historic racing cars, including that of the Mayor of Dijon, Canon Kir.

Wander through the grounds and discover the impressive collection of airplanes and helicopters. Come and admire MIGS, Dassault and 4 aircraft from the Patrouille de France.

The Château de Savigny-les-Beaune is also home to an exhibition of some 30 tractors enjambeurs (tractors used to farm vines) and some 20 firefighting vehicles.
