As a special one-off, throughout the winemaking season, and in partnership with L’Art du Tonneau, we are offering a unique introductory workshop on barrel-making.
See the programme below:
– Discover the history of cooperage, the different types of oak and the various stages involved in making a barrel, from the forest right through to its use in the cellar.
– Take part in a hands-on workshop to assemble a 228-litre Burgundy barrel – a fun and sociable experience.
– Discover the final stages of barrel-making, from toasting to finishing, as well as their influence on the ageing process and the aromas of the wines.
– Explore the style of Chanson wines through a guided tasting of six wines from different Burgundy appellations.
