The Arc-En-Ciel association was founded by Monique and Alain Nesme in 1991.
It is based in Seyssel in the Ain department and has no other branches in France.
Its mission is to make dreams come true for children suffering from cancer, muscular dystrophy, cystic fibrosis or orphan diseases.
"Arc-En-Ciel is made up entirely of volunteers and was recognised as a charitable organisation in 2004.
It is sponsored by Sophie Marceau and Christophe Willem;
Dreams allow children to have a project, to think about something other than their illness, and to take better control of their treatment. It's a breath of fresh air, a moment of escape and a respite from suffering.
The child gets to smile again, and so do his or her parents.
The dream is unique, with a volunteer from the Arc-En-Ciel association accompanying the sick child and one of his parents for a day devoted entirely to him as a VIP.
It's a magical moment where the child's eyes are full of stars.
