Nina Laisné celebrates two figures from Argentine folklore: dancer Néstor 'Pola' Pastorive and pianist Hilda Herrera.
Through the life story of this extraordinary pianist and composer, one of the few women to have made her mark in the very male-dominated world of Argentine folklore, the show reflects the political history of a country that for a long time censored her compositions.
At the piano, Hilda Herrera - present via video - comments, narrates and enters into a dialogue with the zapateos, the traditional dances of the gauchos, revisited with virtuosity and without virilism by Néstor 'Pola' Pastorive. It's a free dance, gravitating between imbalance and resonance.
Nina Laisné and Néstor 'Pola' Pastorive create a poetic, delicate and powerful stage performance, in the image of these free and innovative artists who have never sacrificed the popular essence of their art.
conception, direction, set and costume design Nina Laisné, choreography and interpretation Néstor 'Pola' Pastorive, audio and video recordings - piano and composition Hilda Herrera, 4-hand pieces Sebastián Gangi, lighting design Shaly López, sound engineering Arthur Frick, stage management and video Stéphane Bordonaro, images, video Dante Martinez, studio sound engineering Mireille Faure, costumes and props Florence Bruchon, Maurice Laisné, set design Atelier de la Maison de la Culture Bourges, Scène nationale, translation Adrienne Orssaud
