Description

Sensitive Strings Dijon Bourgogne Orchestra Conducted by Joseph Bastian Works by Ralph Vaughan Williams, Benjamin Britten and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, as well as a French premiere, feature on the programme for an ‘Sensitive Strings’ evening curated by the Dijon Bourgogne Orchestra. Through four musical pieces, this original programme for solo soprano and string orchestra draws on the Renaissance, dance and poetry. Under the baton of Joseph Bastian, a conductor renowned for his great precision and his calm, masterful conducting, ‘Cordes sensibles’ will pay tribute to the ‘classical’ repertoire, whilst opening the door to contemporary composition with a work by Alisson Kruusmaa, a young Estonian composer. A spellbinding evening of music, elevated by the voice of the young Swiss soprano Chelsea Zurflüh, a prize-winner at the Geneva International Music Competition and on the cusp of a great career. Musical direction: Joseph Bastian; performed by the Orchestre Dijon Bourgogne
