BEAUNE

Capital of Burgundy wines, with its trading houses welcoming visitors in former convents with exceptional cellars, Beaune developed on an ancient Roman castrum. It’s a town rich in heritage. With, of course, its emblematic Musée de l’Hôtel-Dieu – Hospices de Beaune of 1443 with glazed tile roofs, its Colégiale Notre-Dame of the 12th century, home to a Virgin and Child known as the Black Virgin, and of its tapestries of the 15th century, as well as numerous private mansions, parks and gardens. City of Art, home of the painter Ziem, magnified by 2 museums, Beaune is also the venue for numerous festivals, including the celebratedFestival International d’Opéra Baroque et Romantique, and a “concert venue” for great gastronomic virtuosos. Not forgetting its flagship event, the Vente des Vins des Hospices on the 3rd Sunday in November. In 2023, opens theCité des Climats et vins de Bourgogne. This new site, dedicated to the Climats of Burgundy’s vineyards, features an original scenography.
